backstreet studios' victory at the bc student film festivalNineteen students from Backstreet Studios travelled up to Kelowna, B.C., on Thursday, April 29th where they attended the 2010 BC Student Film Festival. They participated in a number of workshops where they learnt skills from industry professionals. They returned home on May 1st, but not before taking home a number of awards.Every year, Backstreet Studios enters into the B.C. Student Film Festival with films made over the last twelve months. At the 2010 festival, we were successful in winning a quite a few! We are immensely proud of all our students, even to the ones who didn't place; it is no easy feat to complete a film! Backstreet Studios alumni Wayne Robinson, now attending UBC, won first place with his film Blood Job. Several current students participated in the making of that film, from being an extra to even help produce. We are also proud to announce that our own Patrick Süveg was named top senior filmmaker at the B.C. Student Film Festival. He was awarded the Dawne Tomlinson trophy and a $500 scholarship for the honour. Congratulations Patrick! Congratulations to all the students this year! Backstreet Studios wouldn't be what it is without you!
