BCSFF 2011 + Zoom 2010 The congratulations are a little late, but still wholehearted to the Brookswood students who participated in Zoom 2010 in the beginning of 2010's November. This weekend-long film festival starts at 5:00 PM on Friday with an object, a phrase and a theme to use in their film. Students then spend the next 48 hours planning, shooting, editing and submitting their films. It's an incredible feat and we applaud the late nights and all-nighters the students pulled! On Friday, May 6th 2011, sixteen Brookswood students climbed onto a bus to cart themselves off to the 2011 BC Student Film Festival in Powell River, B.C. Over the course of the weekend, students participated in a number of courses that taught them film industry skills by established professionals. Learn how to paint a bruise on your face? Check. Learn how to shoot a fight? Check. Learn 3-D animation? Check! The students came home tired, but happy on May 9th with a bunch of awards in hand.
The BC Student Film Festival is a chance for students to meet peers and learn new skills, Among the numerous awards, we are immensely proud to say that Maya Treneman and Geneva Dunham brough home not just a few film awards, but also the Junior editing craft award! Lovely job, girls!
