Zoomfest 2009

About: Every year at the beginning of November, a province-wide 48-hour film festival, Zoomfest, is held open for high school students. It opens on a Friday at 5:00PM and gives students a theme and a prop/quote they must incorporate into their film. From there, they film and edit a piece of art under six minutes long that must be submitted by 5:00PM on the following Sunday. It’s a race against the time to create something comprehensible and winning-material.

Our pride: Again and again, Backstreet Studios at Brookswood Secondary School has done well at the film festival, especially in the junior category.

This year for Zoomfest 09, nine teams registered and completed their films on the weekend. Backstreet Studios is happy to announce another successful year with our juniors. For the second year running, we have won the Judges Selection in the Junior Category. We also came in third and second place for the Best Junior Performance. Here are the films, awards and the filmmakers.?
